Services in Natural Environments: Our teachers and therapists will assist your child in meeting their developmental outcomes by offering activities and suggestions that you can incorporate during your daily routine. Services may be provided at home, childcare, or out in the community in such places as the grocery store, Grandma’s or the local park.

Services for the Deaf and Blind: ASAP holds contracts with both a vision teacher and a teacher of the deaf to help meet the needs of children with sensory impairments.

Play Groups: Bi-monthly play groups are held for an hour and a half. Each month a new theme allows for fun and developmentally appropriate activities for you and your child to enjoy together. Your child will learn such skills as sharing, turn taking, sitting for short periods at circle time, and eating snack with their friends.

Language Preschools: We hold three language preschool classes for children with expressive language delays. Locations are in Sumner, Tacoma, and Spanaway. These classes are structured to encourage vocabulary development, oral motor skills and early literacy.

Field Trips: Monthly field trips are offered to all enrolled families. Families receive the support they need in order for their child to be successful out in the community. Scholarships for entrance fees are offered as needed. Popular field trips include Odyssey 1, the pumpkin patch, local parks, and the Tacoma Children’s Museum.

Family Parties: ASAP offers seasonal parties just for a fun change of pace! We have hosted a carnival in the summer and a harvest party in the fall. We also host a winter party each year at Chuck E. Cheese!

Fostering Care Program: Fostering Care is a home visiting program for infants and toddlers in foster care. Foster parents may opt for weekly to monthly home visits which focus on supporting their child’s emotional stability and developmental skills.

Lending Library: ASAP holds a lending library of books and DVDs to help parents learn more about their child's disabilities and appropriate teaching strategies.
