Where special needs find a home

COVID-19 Update

A Step Ahead continues to accept referrals. Please don't wait, ESIT services are available now for children birth to age three, and this is a critical period of brain development. Download our flyer for more info.

We are experiencing an unprecedented health crisis in our community due to COVID-19. The ASAPC Service Provider Team has adapted 100% and all visits and evaluations with families are now virtual. Therefore, our office is closed to the general public; however, we continue to accept new referrals. For assistance, please contact us via email at info@asapc.org OR you can contact the Pierce County Referral Line via fax, phone, or email: (253) 798-7372, Fax: (253) 798-2818, email: PCFRC@piercecountywa.gov.

We are deeply committed to the children and families we serve and are doing everything we can to continue delivering the same quality of care our families have come to depend on and expect.

Your Home for Children with Special Needs

A Step Ahead in Pierce County is one of the region’s most progressive organizations for children ages birth to three who have one or more developmental delays. We provide convenient, home-based therapy and educational services, including speech, physical and occupational therapies and special education.

Our team of talented and tenacious professionals work with you and your family as partners, advocates and a support system of care. Our pledge is to unlock the full potential in every child we see.

Annabelle's Story
