Join A Step Ahead's Board of Directors

The Board of Directors of A Step Ahead in Pierce County (ASAPC) is currently recruiting prospective candidates to fill positions on the governing board.

ASAPC was founded in 2001 to help meet the needs of increasing numbers of children identified with developmental delays in our county.  For over twenty years, we have created and implemented a variety of programs to achieve our mission of “supporting families of infants and toddlers with special needs by enhancing their development and relationships both at home and in their community.”

ASAPC has an excellent reputation in the Puget Sound region for providing quality and progressive services for children with developmental delays and disabilities. Early Support for Infant and Toddlers (formerly Early intervention) services are designed to enable children from birth to 3 with developmental delays or disabilities to be active and successful during the early childhood years and in the future in a variety of settings—in their homes, in childcare, in preschool or school programs, and in their communities.

Throughout the years, ASAPC has been able to provide comprehensive and creative services while remaining fiscally responsible. Our Board has been fully committed to all aspects of the organization as well as the well-being of children.

  •  Do you have a strong interest in the future of our children?

  • Do you have experience in business, law, real estate, insurance, human resources, or fundraising events?

  • Are you an alumni parent?

  • Do you have previous Board Experience? (not required)

If you answered yes to one or more of these questions, we would like to further discuss these rewarding positions with you. Please fill out the BOD inquiry form below and we will be in touch soon.

Thank you for your interest.

Sincerely,

Scott Leingang, ASAPC Board President
