If you’re coming from the south — you’ll want to turn left at the light on 104th to enter our parking lot! Entrance to the Classroom is at the center of the building downstairs, then take the stairs or elevator to our door!

About A Step Ahead’s Playgroups

A Step Ahead offers Playgroups as an additional service to our families. Playgroups provide an opportunity for guided support and allow children to work on skills while in a setting amongst their peers. Our playgroups focus on social-emotional skills, sensory development, communication, cognitive and motor skills. They are an inclusive setting where children can learn through play while having the opportunity for observation and modeling of skills by both adults and their peers. They also provide the opportunity for parents to network amongst other parents who share similar experiences, giving them a sense of community.

Parent Coaching Model

A Step Ahead’s playgroups follow our Parent Coaching Model and require the interaction of parents with their children to make the classes successful. A Step Ahead’s goal is to coach parents in how to guide their child’s experience through the class. Without parent interaction, our playgroups would not be possible.

Because of this, our classroom is a cell phone free zone. We ask that you silence your phone and reserve the use of your phone for emergencies only while in class.

Schedule, Registration Info & Waitlists

We’ll have two session on Tuesdays at 9:30am and 2:00pm &
one session on Thursdays at 11:30am

Classes are scheduled for 10 Weeks each quarter of the school year and take a break during the summer months each year.

Playgroups are open to children currently enrolled in services with A Step Ahead. Registration is open now, and our waitlist is currently active. And as always, when a spot is available for your child in class, you will receive a welcome text message from us, to the phone number you used at registration.

Additional changes to the process that we want you to know:

  • Registration will be limited to one session only, so that we can serve as many children as possible.

  • Class sizes will still be limited due to space in our classroom for Caregivers & Kids

  • We are also adding a limit to the number of quarters that a family participates in, to give us an opportunity to reach more children. We will graduate children from playgroup after 2 consecutive quarters moving forward.

  • Attendance policy will remain in place, because attendance is key to success!
