ABOUT THE HOLIDAY GIVING PROGRAM
The Holiday Giving Program supports families enrolled at A Step Ahead in Pierce County who are in need by providing therapeutic and sensory items that help children thrive. While many local programs focus on gifts and food, ASAPC’s Holiday Giving Program fills a special gap, offering therapy-related essentials families may not otherwise afford.
When funds allow, buyers may also purchase basic needs or wish list items, which is why we collect that info.

It’s that heartfelt time of year, A Step Ahead’s Adopt-a-Family Season of Support when our community joins together to bring hope, comfort, and joy to families who need it most.
The holidays are meant to be a time of gratitude and togetherness, but for many of the families we serve, the season can feel overwhelming. Between medical appointments, therapy sessions, and the rising costs of daily essentials, it can be hard to find room for holiday cheer. Many are caring for children with developmental delays, disabilities, or serious medical conditions—often while juggling financial strain and emotional stress.
Together, we can change that.
When you adopt a family or make a donation, you give more than gifts, you give relief, dignity, and joy. Your generosity provides essentials like groceries, gas cards, sensory toys, and therapeutic supplies that directly support the children and families we serve.
Every dollar and every gift goes directly to our pre-selected families.
You can make an even bigger impact by inviting coworkers, friends, or family to join you, it’s a powerful way to spread hope this holiday season.

Families that we are able to assist this year, will be notified as soon as their provider enters their application into our system.
You will receive a follow up form to share additional information about your child and family that we can share with the donor who adopts your family.
On November 13th, you’ll receive a text from us with a link to sign-up for your pickup appointment
(save our number, so you don’t miss the text 833.712.0957 (msg & data rates may apply)
A pickup appointment is required and must be reserved before December 2nd for pickup the following week

We are able to accept 25 families in 2026. Applications will be open October 28th through November 5th, or until we receive 25 applications, whichever happens first.
The application process must be submitted by your ASAPC Provider, please reach out to them for additional details
Gift pickup will happen on Friday December 11th, at our main office location in Puyallup. The A Step Ahead Elf Crew will assist you in loading your car with gifts. If transportation is a barrier for your family, please talk to you provider, they are prepared to offer solutions to this!
