Working Connections Child Care (WCCC) Assists eligible families with the cost of child care while they work, attend school, or participate in approved training programs.
Child Care Aware of WA Helps families find quality child care in their area and determine whether they qualify for child care financial assistance.
Family, Friend, Neighbor Child Care (FNN) Informal, home-based care provided by trusted individuals you already know, such as grandparents, aunts, uncles, older siblings, friends, or neighbors.
Early Childhood Education and Assistance Program (ECEAP) Free, state-funded preschool program for eligible children who are 3 and 4 years old.
Head Start Provides no-cost early learning in federally funded centers for eligible families with children ages 3 through 5.
YMCA of Pierce and Kitsap Counties Offers licensed early learning programs for children 6 weeks to 6 years old. Scholarships are available.
Special Education Preschool/Child Find Eligible children can access free developmental preschool through their local school district after completing a developmental evaluation. Your A Step Ahead team can help coordinate the evaluation before age 3. After age 3, you may request an evaluation through your district's Child Find program.
