Lead Motor Therapist

Melissa Torkelson is the Lead Motor Therapist for ASAPC. She has her doctorate in Physical Therapy and serves on the evaluation team, as well as sees a regular caseload of kiddos. Throughout Melissa’s career, she has worked with both children and adults in an outpatient setting. “I love working with kids because it’s amazing to see their little personalities take shape.”

The most inspiring part of her job is seeing how hard the kiddos work at accomplishing something that may look small to others. “We get to celebrate the little inch stones along with the milestones with our families. I love working with families and seeing their joy when their kiddos reach their goals.”

When Melissa is not working, she stays active with her family. She is married to a wonderful husband and has two small children, and an adorable goldendoodle. They love going on adventures, traveling, and camping.
