Early Childhood Special Educator

Barbara Martin has worked for A Step Ahead in Pierce County for 19 years as an Early Childhood Special Educator. Her 30-year career as a childhood special educator has shaped her vast knowledge in the field. In addition, she has training in Mentor Coaching, Infant Mental Health, Cortical Visual Impairment, and extended advance professional training in working with children with visual impairments.

Throughout her career, Barbara has been mentored by some of the top teachers certified in Visual Impairments, Occupation Therapists, Physical therapists, and Speech-Language Pathologists in the state of Washington.
